Indianapolis Arts Garden
Distance .1 miles
The arts council of Indianapolis fosters meaningful engagement in the arts by nurturing a culture where artists and arts organizations thrive. The Arts Council owns and operates two performance and exhibition spaces, the Indianapolis Arts Garden (attached to Circle Centre Mall) and Gallery 924 (at 924 N. Pennsylvania Street). 

Rhythm Discovery Center

Rhythm! Discovery Center is the world’s only interactive drum and percussion museum. Founded in 2009, it is a creative vision of the Percussive Arts Society, the largest member-based international percussion organization in the world.

Canal Walk

The Canal Walk is part of the Indiana Central Canal, which was dug in the early 1800s, in an effort to facilitate interstate commerce. Today, the refurbished Canal Walk (stretching north through White River State Park to 11th Street) serves the downtown community as a waterside promenade for walkers, runners, bikers and sightseers (while the canal itself includes a steady stream of pedal boats, which may be rented west of the Indiana State Museum).

Soldiers and Sailors Monument

Recognized as one of the world’s outstanding monuments, the structure has come to symbolize both the City of Indianapolis and the State of Indiana. Located in the heart of downtown in Monument Circle, it was originally designed to honor Indiana’s Civil War veterans. It now commemorates the valor of Hoosier veterans who served in all wars prior to WWI, including the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Frontier Wars and the Spanish-American War. One of the most popular parts of the monument is the observation deck with a 360-degree view of the city skyline from 275 feet up.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the United State's top race courses, opening back in 1909. The IMS is the original speedway, featuring a seating capacity of about 257,000 and a two-and-a-half mile track. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum is located in the infield, is the perfect destination for car lovers!

White River State Park

White River State Park is Indiana's only urban state park which features an array of attractions and year-round entertainment. The park features over 250 acres of green pace, which can be explored via Segway, bike, paddle boats or walking along a 1.5 mile canal.
