This award is presented annually to a visionary leader in customer care with ethical standards and who advocates for the customer, just as Esther did in her time. Some of the traits of our award winners included but were not limited to:
Recognized and promoted the highest standards of performance in all areas of Customer Care.
Showed leadership in their industry, such as business, government, academia, and/or media.
Created new and innovative ideas that reduced effort for all sides of Customer Care.
This award proudly bears the name of its first recipient, Esther K. Shapiro; a woman who defined and delivered those high standards over a lifetime of service in the city of Detroit's long-standing Director of Consumer Affairs.
