At the beginning of the New Year, people focus on their New Year's Resolutions. We make resolutions, or statements of determination, about what we intend to accomplish. Resolutions can be very positive and can have a motivating influence on our attitudes and actions. But at the beginning of this new year, accept a challenge to consider not only your Resolutions but also a few other "R" words that can make a difference for you personally and professionally.
REVELATIONS
Has anything been revealed to you lately? One revelation is how quickly time is passing. It seems that just moments ago we were launching 2003, and now, here we are embarking on another brand new year. This revelation might cause a greater sense of urgency and to realize that you need to be accomplishing goals and living life to its fullest. There is no time to waste. What revelation have you had that will change your pattern of behavior in 2004?
RESTORATIONS
Is there something in your life that needs restoring? Maybe it is a relationship that has been neglected or damaged because of an event, circumstance, or misunderstanding. Maybe it is your health that needs restoring. Have you neglected taking care of yourself? Now is the time to take the first steps toward restoration. You will have greater peace and a greater sense of well-being if you make an effort to restore those areas of your life that may be in disrepair.
REVOLUTIONS
Plan to do something revolutionary in this year. That sounds a little scary, and yet it also sounds exciting, doesn't it? Revolution involves complete change. What in your life or work needs to change completely? Start a revolution, and see it to completion.
In 2004, RESOLVE...
Putting these four Rs into practice is sure to make this year GR-R-R-R-E-A-T!
