Q: What are Industry Learning Labs?
A: Industry Learning Labs are new sessions being offered at the SOCAP 2008 Symposium in Boston. The labs will be organized by industry type and will include presentations from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) along with peer-led discussions on a specific issue or topic.
Q: How will the Industry Learning Labs be organized at the Symposium?
A: The labs will be organized around the following industries:
- Pharmaceuticals/Healthcare
- Food & Beverage
- Retail/Apparel
- Automotive
- Consumer Products
- Travel/Hospitality
Each industry lab will have an assigned Discussion Leader(s) who will facilitate in-depth discussions among participants. Each Industry Learning Lab will start with a presentation from a Subject Matter Expert on a topic or issue impacting that particular industry. Group discussion will follow the presentation and learning outcomes will be captured by the Discussion Leaders.
Q: Who can attend the Industry Learning Labs?
A: All Symposium attendees are invited to participate in the Industry Learning Labs. The labs will be open to Symposium attendees who work in one of the specific industries OR to any interested attendee who may want to learn more about a particular topic.
Q: When will the Industry Learning Labs be offered at the 2008 Symposium?
A: The Industry Learning Labs will be offered in addition to the regular breakout sessions on both days (Monday and Tuesday) of the Symposium. Each lab session will be one-hour long.
Q: What are the benefits of the Industry Learning Labs?
A: SOCAP is offering these new Industry Learning Labs to help attendees from similar industries to share and exchange ideas, to dialogue on issues impacting their businesses and to identify practical solutions to key issues or concerns. These shared experiences, along with the peer-based learning approach of the Industry Learning Labs, will enhance the networking benefit at the Symposium. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to examine the latest business topics through an industry lens.
